ABOUT US

About Us

Wes and Dawn Trueblood met as teenagers in Fresno, CA.  In June 2026, they will celebrate 50 years of marriage.  They've raised two sons and a foster daughter who have provided them 9 grandchildren.

After completing military service, they entered The Salvation Army College for Officer’s Training in 1979 and served 15 years in Christian ministry after program completion: 11 as church leaders and 4 as drug & alcohol treatment administrators.

They returned to Fresno for 10 years, becoming involved with Bible Study Fellowship and furthering their education.  Wes became a public-school teacher, while Dawn moved into senior housing administration.

In 2006, they moved to San Antonio, TX, to support their youngest son’s family.  Wes caught on with the DoD’s Defense’s Language Institute, from which he retired in 2022.  After being “Grandma” exclusively for several years, Dawn returned to work a few years with The Salvation Army, and then also finished her work career at the Bible Study Fellowship HQ in 2022.

Across the years, Wes has focused on adult biblical education programs, and Dawn has zeroed in on children’s ministries.  While in San Antonio, Wes participated in a Greek language study group for 8 years, translating New Testament books.

Together and led by the Lord, they have pooled their training and expertise into resources to share with others through the BBR website as a FREE service.

What We Believe

We Believe,

  • In the Christian Trinity as the concept of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

  • Jesus became human, born of the virgin Mary --- the God-Man --- and died on a cross for mankind’s sin.  There is no other name under heaven whereby we can be saved.

  • Sin --- disobedience to God --- is revealed in actions and attitudes which separate people from Him.  Everyone sins and falls short of God’s standards.

  • The Holy Bible is the only authoritative word for Christians.  It reveals who God is and His meaning and purpose for humanity.  It reveals God’s plan for mankind’s salvation.

  • The goal for Christian believers today is to become more Christ-like in every aspect of life, reflecting His holiness in our relationships and urging others to be reconciled to God.  In response to faith, God equips Christians to do good works He has appointed for them.

  • In the reality of a literal heaven, hell and devil.  Jesus is the primary teacher of these.

  • There will be a final Judgment, and those unbelievers not found in the Book of Life will be placed in hell for punishment, along with the devil and his angels.  Believers’ works and words will be scrutinized for God-honoring purposes, followed by God’s rewards.
